How did I get started?

I am still a total beginner at needle felting. This is how I got started.

I was at Wonder Con, sort of a mini Comic Con, and saw a needle felted bug with polymer clay hands, feet, and face.  It was darling. I started talking to the artist and it turns out she was going to be teaching a class where you make your own!

When I went to sign up, I noticed another class with the same artist, Kathy Davis, to make a completely needle felted pull toy. I signed up for both with no knowledge of either technique.

My first project ever was a dragon. There are pics on the blog of him. I was hooked!  I am still working on my bug.

So far, I am not fond of sculpting. I am also not good at it. I will probably take her fairy sculpting class in July and robot making class in August and decide if I like it or if I will stick to completely felted projects.

She teaches at Piecemakers in Costa Mesa, Ca. Here is a link to their new classes

No needle felting but some fun challenging crafts. When I took the classes there were 3 other people all super nice.

I'll post pics when those projects are done!

Happy creating!

My current in progress projects

Monster went through washer and dryer

This says it all! LMAO

Some of my ETSY finds

So the bottom , Stitch and the pugs, are kits!  The other are PDF books! Super awesome!

Monster through the wash?

I am thinking about putting my needle felted monster in the washer and dryer to see how small he gets. He'll shrink just like a wool sweater. Still not 100% happy with him. While my laundry finishes I am still felting him to see if I can figure out what about him I do not like.
